This is old news now but few days ago I won realtime VFX contest called The Great Transmutator. It was hosted by realtimevfx.com and PopcornFX. Judges were very, very experienced in VFX so it was awesome to find out that I actually got the 1st place :)

The purpose of the contest was to morph one object into another, all in realtime inside engine of choice. I was considering Unreal Engine 4 but went with Unity3d since I love its simplicity and I have been working with this engine for quite a few years now.

Since the winners were announced I am receiving a lot of questions about how I made my entry. I would love to show you how I made this right now but creating a breakdown is taking quite a lot of time. So stay tuned as I will definitely share some details on my effect!
